Dr. Jadunath Buragohain is a cancer specialist in Guwahati, recognized as J. N. Buragohain, stands as a proficient surgical oncologist. His expertise in Cancer Surgery was honed at the Cancer Institute (WIA) in Adyar, Chennai, where he achieved the distinction of being the first to attain an M Ch in Surgical Oncology from North East India. Prior to his role as an Oncosurgeon at Gauhati Medical College and State Cancer Institute, GMC, Dr. Jadunath Buragohain served as a Consultant in the Surgical Oncology department at Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Kumar Nursing Home Hospital in Guwahati.

He is a cancer specialist in Guwahati and is carrying out challenging head and neck cancer reconstruction, including microvascular free flap surgery, on a regular basis; many hepatopancreaticobiliary oncosurgeries, including whipples pancreaticoduodenectomy, one of the most challenging procedures; numerous thoracic cancer surgeries (mostly esophagectomy open and thoracoscopic, and lung surgery); numerous gastrointestinal cancer surgeries (open and Laparoscopic, including radical gastrectomy, colectomy, and rectal surgery); radical cholecystectomy; surgery for urological cancer (such as radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, or cystectomy); surgery for breast cancer, including oncoplastic procedures, modified radical mastectomy, and breast conservative surgery; Gynaecological oncological surgery includes retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, radical hysterectomy for uterine cervical cancer, staging laparotomy for uterine endometrial carcinoma, and limb salvage surgery with a custom-made mega prosthesis.
